Childhood Memory

Since I took the Milt Kobayashi’s workshop in Scottsdale, I enjoy painting square canvases with figures in fun background.  The setting is in Vietnam.  Though I have never been there, I can feel the energy from my own childhood back in Japan.  I used to go to summer festivals in nearby shrines.  These paper lampshades can be seen as a landmark from far and only with a couple dollars, children could enjoy playing games and eating special festival desserts.
