Koinobori (carp streamer)

Koinobori is a set of carp streamer, father, mother and son to celebrate one of the Japanese traditional holidays on May 5th, “Children’s Day”.  Despite the name, it is only for boys and these huge carps fly in the sky.  It is purely my creation to combine this boy’s spring symbol with two girls in summer.  I would not have done this had I lived in Japan, but somehow I feel liberated by living in the Western country for quite sometime.
